Is there childcare/Sunday School during church?

Yes.  Well-trained staff for vaccinated babies and toddlers to the age of 4.  Religious Exploration classes are offered for vaccinated kindergarten and older children.

If my child doesn’t separate well, can he or she stay with me in the service?

Yes.  And if your child is restless, you may listen to the service in the foyer. The service is broadcast to the foyer and the kitchen.

Can women breastfeed in the sanctuary?

Yes.  For the shyer mother there are chairs located along the back walls.

Are there any people of color in the congregation?

Yes.   Any person of any ethnicity would feel welcomed at First UU.

Are there bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgendered people in this congregation?

Yes.  Unitarian Universalists were groundbreakers in recognizing the equality of our gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer people.   We were the first mainline denomination in the US to support legally recognized same sex marriage (1996).

Are there people in the congregation who believe in Christian teachings?  In Buddhist teachings? Humanist teachings? Paganism?

The short answer is “yes.”  Our fourth principle is “A free and responsible search for truth and meaning,” which includes all of the above and more. We share a living tradition which draws from many sources.
