Current Art Exhibition: Stephen Miner
Don’t miss Stephen Miner’s art exhibition of bright new collages in the Gathering Space Gallery. In many of these works, he cuts up an image, then pastes pieces on another sheet to add a new dimension. On some works he has added other images such as insects or maps, and plenty of color, sometimes in the framing.
We will have a reception following a Sunday service in February (date to be announced), when Stephen will talk about his work. Meanwhile, enjoy this collection — and while you’re thinking about art, have a fresh look at Stephen’s landscapes in the sanctuary, which will give you an idea of his range. All are for sale.
Exhibition Space
The First UU of Wichita art space consists of two walls in the foyer/gathering space, big enough for about 15 fairly large hanging art pieces. We have shown photography, painting, assemblage, quilts, and some 3-D art such as small sculpture. We usually hang work for two months or so. We can arrange artist’s receptions. If you are an artist interested in showing your work in our space, please contact the church office.
