Vanessa Keeler will present “Resistance is (Not) Futile” by Rev. Andrew L. Weber, who challenges the Borg of Star Trek’s claim that it is pointless to resist a seemingly overwhelming and all-powerful force and cites the story of the starfish. Both are parables of people up against an injustice that seems insurmountable. One explicitly says that resistance is futile, the other implies it. There are so many starfish, what effect can one person possibly have?” Anna Jenney Campbell reads a story for all ages, and the First UU Choir returns with special music.
While the church is now open for all services and activities regardless of your vaccination status, the Board strongly recommends that all of us be vaccinated and asks that we continue to practice social distancing, when possible, especially when around members and friends who are still opting to wear masks. Online Zoom access is provided for those who cannot attend services or events in person.
