He will discuss the African-American experience of Wichita. Basically, even though many non-black Americans have worked for civil rights for decades, we do not comprehend the black experience in America. For example, consider the idea “white privilege.” If you are white, do you go through life thinking about being privileged? Perhaps most whites in America do not think there is a white privilege, but most non-whites are well aware of white privilege. The discussion will be quite informative on a number of such issues.
