Corey Swertfager presents, “A Passage a Day Keeps the Doctor Away.” For millennia, millions have harnessed the power of meditation to transform their lives. Pragmatic mystic Eknath Easwaran crafted an eight-point program that came to be known as Passage Meditation, a complete spiritual practice that includes meditation on a passage, repetition of a mantram, slowing down, one-pointed attention, training the senses, putting others first, spiritual fellowship, and spiritual reading. The crux of the program is daily meditation on passages or texts from the world’s wisdom traditions that are positive, practical, and uplifting, and that fit with one’s own religious or non-religious beliefs. But Easwaran emphasized that it is essential to practice all eight points of the program each day to fully train the mind and to find and develop a life that fulfills. In his presentation, Corey will describe Easwaran’s eight-point program and propose how to incorporate his principles into daily living.
