Gita Jayanti Celebration and Meal
The birthday of Bhagvad Gita, a sacred text to Hindus, is called Gita Jayanti. It is believed the Bhagavad Gita was revealed to Arjuna by Lord Krishna Himself in the battlefield of Kurukshetra (in present day Haryana, India). The text is written in third person, narrated by Sanjaya to King Dhritarashtra as it transpired between Lord Krishna and Arjuna. The Bhakti Society of Wichita will be celebrating Gita Jayanti on Sunday. The celebration will include readings and discussion on the Bhagavad Gita, multimedia presentations and messages, prasadam (blessed meal), and much more. We welcome anyone who would like to attend and learn more about the Bhagavad Gita.
